Debbie Davis joined Conference USA in September 2006 as Associate Director of Media Relations. Davis came to C-USA from the Southland Conference. Prior to the SLC, Davis was on the media relations staff at the University of Oklahoma for seven years and the University of Tulsa for four years.

With C-USA, she is the primary media relations contact for women's basketball and volleyball as well as men's and women's track & field and cross country. Davis also is heavily involved with the distribution of championship credentials.

Davis served as the media relations coordinator for the 2007 NCAA Women's Basketball Dallas Regional and worked her second straight NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four as a member of the NCAA media support staff.

In 2006, Davis also worked the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship as a timeout coordinator and served on the NCAA Final Four credential distribution staff.

After serving two years as an assistant media relations director at OU, Davis was promoted to associate director in June 2000. She was the primary contact for the women's basketball program but assisted with daily football duties as well as oversaw the media relations general office management and student staff.

In addition to handling all media relations efforts for the nationally ranked and 2002 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four finalist, Davis served as co-coordinator for the 2004 NCAA Midwest Regional championship as well as assisted in hosting four consecutive NCAA subregionals in Norman.

Davis' recent basketball publications have earned top honors by CoSIDA. Three media guides finished in the top three in District VI, while her 2001 book was judged "Best in the Nation" followed by her 2004 guide finishing "Third Best in the Nation." Davis' 1999 volleyball guide placed "Sixth Best in the Nation."

At Tulsa, Davis assisted in all phases of media relations. She has also worked in the media relations department at Florida, Kentucky and the Missouri Valley Conference. In addition, Davis served on the basketball statistics staff at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Ga., and was on staff at the 2003 and 2005 Kentucky Derby.

Davis, a native of Burkesville, Ky., earned her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Kentucky in 1992.

The former Debbie Long married Brian Davis on May 28, 2005. The couple welcomed their first child, Adyson Renee, on July 11. They live in Irving.
