Charolette Hunt joined the Conference staff in October of 2003 as the Director of Compliance. Hunt's primary responsibilities include providing rules interpretations of NCAA legislation and educating coaches, student-athletes and administrators on legislative changes and overseeing the use of the Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund and Special Assistance Fund. She coordinates the processing of Level II secondary violations and conference-administered waivers (e.g., medical hardship waivers and progress towards degree waivers). She is solely responsible for the administration of the National Letter of Intent, coaches' certification programs and collection of eligibility and squad lists. Additionally, Hunt serves as a contact for the Faculty Athletic Representatives and Compliance Coordinators Committee.
Prior to joining Conference USA, Hunt spent almost three years as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator at the University of Texas at Pan American where she was responsible for all compliance responsibilities, facilities scheduling and other student-athlete well-being initiatives. While at UTPA, Hunt played a key role during the athletics certification process and became an NCAA peer reviewer for the areas of Governance and Commitment to Rules Compliance and Gender, Diversity and Student-Athlete Well-Being.
Prior to her arrival in Edinburg, Hunt spent time at two Big Ten institutions: serving as the Compliance Coordinator for Northwestern University and as the Eligibility Coordinator at the University of Michigan where she was responsible for coordinating the certification of over 700 student-athletes. Hunt began her career as a Compliance Assistant at the Big East Conference.
A native of Foreman, Ark., Hunt earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Promotions with a minor in Journalism from Arkansas State University in 1998 and served for two years in the United States Army Reserves. Hunt resides in Irving with her son, Caden.
