It was the end of the semester which was coming near again. Dreading the finals and all the studying associated with it, we procrastinated all the school related activities and instead went to see our Men's and Women's basketball start of their season.

Military Appreciation Day - 12/12/09
In the past month, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee has been involved in both the SAAC Hunger Canned Food Drive and the Military Appreciation Day. SAAC Hunger was a continuation of last year's "Blackout Hunger" week, when the drive was a conference-wide competition between schools.

Univeristy of Southern Mississippi earns NCAA Sportsmanship Award - 11/23/09
During an April 25 meet, Ammons was trying to achieve the regional qualifying mark of 16.80 meters in the shot put. He threw 17.34 meters, well over the qualifying mark, but suspected the shot may not have been of legal weight. He weighed the shot, found that it was not the correct weight, and told his head coach he wanted to forfeit the throw.
