Three Southern Miss Student-Athletes Recognized on University's Founders Day Celebration - 3/30/09
Three University of Southern Mississippi student-athletes, Rebecca Masters, Gerald McRath and Kendra Reed, were all selected for top honors during the school's annual student awards day, Monday, as part of the Founders' Day Celebration.
"Congratulations to the awards our outstanding student-athletes received from Southern Miss," said Director of Athletics Richard Giannini. "Not only are they excellent athletes, their leadership skills show they are among the elite students at our university."

Jan. 27 C-USA Tennis Players of the Week - 1/27/09
Rice senior Christoph Müller is the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles as the No. 24 Owls went 3-0 with wins over No. 17 Miami, No. 33 TCU and Florida Atlantic. Sophomore Alexandra Kichoutkin of Tulsa is the Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Kichoutkin teamed with Marta Marcinkowska to go 2-0 in No. 1 doubles, including a win over the No. 8 tandem from nationally-ranked Arkansas.

Conference USA 'Let's SAAC Hunger' Program Collects 15Tons - 1/9/09
In July 2008, the Conference USA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee approved the C-USA "Let's SAAC Hunger Program" as an initiative that unites our institutions through a conference wide community service initiative. Each C-USA school worked with their respective communities to conduct a campus-wide canned food drive for one week during the fall semester. All student groups and alumni were encouraged to participate.
