UAB Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Third at Seminole Intercollegiate
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Shooting its lowest round of the tournament
(295-293-292/880), the UAB men's golf team moved from fourth place into
a tie for third place with the College of Charleston (289-298-293/880)
at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla. The Blazers
finished behind Virginia (295-278-284/857), holding its first day lead
to take the title and North Carolina (289-296-290/875), finishing in
second place.
Individually, Steve Marino of Virginia was in no danger of the first day
lead as he shot a final round 67 to take the title, finishing at 205,
eight strokes ahead of second place.
The Blazers top finisher was sophomore Daniel Ozley (72-72-74/217),
finishing in sole possession of sixth place after a final round 74 for a
one-over 217. Junior Payton Osborn (75-72-71/218) recorded his highest
finish of the season at a tie for seventh, while also shooting the low
round of the day (71) for the Blazers for a two-over 218. Blazer
teammate Graeme McDowell (74-73-74/221) finished in a tie for 15th
place, while Blazer Connor Doran (78-77-74/229) finished in a tie for
46th spot. Craig Gordon (74-83-73/230) rounded out the scores for the
Blazers finishing in a tie for 50th.
The Blazers will compete again on March 23-25 at the Alabama Spring
Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. |
