Mcdowell Wins Conrad Rehling Alabama Invite; Blazers Tie for Fourth
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Graeme McDowell of the UAB men's golf team held onto
a one-stroke lead to take the title at the Conrad Rehling Alabama Invite
in Tuscaloosa. After firing rounds of 72 and 68 on Friday and Saturday,
McDowell shot an even par 72 at the Ol' Colony Golf Course to finish the
tournament at 212. DJ Fiese of Georgia State (72-71-70/213) and Lars
Brovold of Alabama (72-71-70/213) finished in a tie for second place.
College of Charleston finished first among the teams (293-292-304/889)
at 889, five strokes ahead of host team Alabama (294-305-295/894).
Georgia State ( 298-295-305/898) rounded out the top-three spots.
UAB (304-292-305/ 901) shot a final round 305 to finish the tournament
in a tie for fourth with Mississippi (305-294-302/901) with a final 901.
Also for the Blazers, Payton Osborn (79-72-75/226) finished in a tie for
15th place, Daniel Ozley (74-79-80/233) finished in a tie for 37th
place, Connor Doran (79-77-79/235) finished in a tie for 47th place and
Craig Gordon (82-75-79/236) finished in a tie for 50th place.
The Blazers go next to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Billy Hitchcock
Intercollegiate on April 5-8. |
