Lourie Leads UAB Women's Golf To Fourteenth Place Finish At Seahawk

WALLACE, N.C. - Junior Heather Lourie of the UAB women’s golf team finished tied for 19th at the Lady Seahawk Invitational after shooting rounds of 82-78-76/236 at the Par 72, 5,990 yard River Landing Country Club in Wallace, N.C. The Blazers moved up two spots to finish 14th, shooting rounds of 340-325-319/984.

Charleston Southern took the team title with scores of 314-301-318/933. Jessica Lewis of James Madison took the individual title after firing rounds of 79-71-68/218.

Also for the Blazers, Christina Gushanas finished tied for 30th with scores of 83-80-78/241, Emily Hendricks tied for 43rd after shooting 82-83-79/244, Petra Hallberg shot rounds of 94-84-86/264 to finish in sole possession of 86th place and Jenni Elmore finished 91st with scores of 93-95-88/276.

UAB will be back in Action next week as they host the Lady Blazer Invitational on April 2-3 at the Inverness Country Club in Birmingham. For more information on this tournament, call 934-0722.
