Meghan Little

    Charlotte freshman Andrew DiBitetto and Louisville senior Meghan Little were named the Conference USA Golfers of the Week for tournament play through March 29. Little took medallist honors at the Mountain View Collegiate with a seven-under-par 209 for her third career tournament title. DiBitetto carded a three-round score of 211 (-5) to finish third at the Furman Intercollegiate.

    Men’s Golfers of the Week
    Andrew DiBitetto – Charlotte (Freshman, Rochester, N.Y.)

    DiBitetto tied for third at the Furman Intercollegiate, just one stroke behind the tournament co-leaders, to lead the 49ers to a tie for second in the team standings. It was his second straight Top 3 finish after winning medallist honors at the Birkdale Collegiate. He is 14-under par in the last two events and is pacing the team with a 72.7 stroke average in nine events this season.

    Women’s Golfer of the Week
    Meghan Little – Louisville (Senior, Sturgis, S.D.)

    Little earned medallist honors at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., over the weekend. Little tied her collegiate low with an opening round score of 68. She followed up with a 69 and shot par on the final day for a 209 (-7) to set a personal best three-round score. It was the third tournament title in Little’s career and she was also selected Player of the Week by Golfweek.

    was idle last week after tying for seventh with Ohio University at the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate at the El Diabo Country Club in Citrus Springs, Fla., hosted by future C-USA member Marshall. UC will host the first day of the UC/UD Golf Invitational on Monday. … EAST CAROLINA recorded a final round 318 at the prestigious Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and finished in 16th with a final score of 955. The tournament was played at the par-72, 6,228-yard University of Georgia Golf Club in Athens, Ga. Senior Adrienne Millican finished tied for 26th after carding a final round of 79 for an event total of 229 and finished 11 strokes behind tournament champion Kelly Froelich of Georgia. … LOUISVILLE senior Meghan Little won her third career title with medallist honors at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. Little set collegiate lows with a 68 first-round and 209 for the three-round tournament. She earned C-USA and Golfweek Player of the Week honors for her achievements. … MEMPHIS sophomore Stacey Tate closed out the final round of the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout with a 6-over-par 78 to finish tied for 15th individually despite cold and rainy weather. Play was delayed for an hour and a half Saturday due to rain as the temperature dropped into the 50s after two opening rounds played in sunny weather that topped 80 degrees. The Lady Tigers (323-326-334-983) ended the tournament tied for 15th among the field of 18 teams. Memphis will host the C-USA Women’s Golf Championships on April 18-20 at the Germantown Country Club. … SAINT LOUIS fell 4-1 to Evansville Friday at Normandie Golf Club. Billiken freshman Kaela Burke was the lone victory on the women's side. Saint Louis' overall team score of 357 was the first-year program’s lowest of the season. … SOUTHERN MISS was idle last week. The Golden Eagles return to the links as host of the Lady Eagle Classic at Shadow Ridge Golf Club April 4-5. … TCU was idle last week. The Horned Frogs return to the links at the Lady Sun Devil Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., April 1-3. … TULANE senior Lindsay Hartwick tied for third at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga. Hartwick shot a 5-over par 221 (73-72-76) as the Green Wave finished third in a field that featured nine of the nation’s Top 25 teams. … UAB did not compete last week and the Blazers return to action April 4-6 when they play in the Lady Eagle Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss. … USF had a week to rest before the Florida State Invitational April 1-2 in Miami. The host Hurricanes edged out runner-up USF at the Waterlefe Golf & River Club. The Bulls were led by Daniella Ronderos, who shot a final round 5-under par 67, including five birdies on the back nine.

    freshman Andrew DiBitetto finished just one stroke back of the co-leaders as Charlotte tied for second at the Furman Intercollegiate. The Niners rallied to within three strokes of champion USC-Aiken. DiBitetto earned C-USA Men’s Golfer of the Week honors as he shot a 211 and tied for third. … CINCINNATI did not complete last week. The Bearcats return to the links April 1-2, traveling to Eastern Kentucky’s Spring Intercollegiate. … DE PAUL placed 13th at the Fidelity National Title Intercollegiate in Arroyo Grande, Calif. Freshman Matthew McMahon was the only Top 20 finish, placing 19th with a 73-76-73=222. … EAST CAROLINA junior Robin Smith posted a final round score of 77 to finish tied for 15th (228) at the First Annual Pinehurst Intercollegiate, sponsored by Pinehurst Golf Club and East Carolina. On the final day of competition, the Pirates moved up two spots and finished tied for seventh with instate rival UNC Wilmington with a 54-hole score of 918. Future Conference USA foe SMU (875) won the event. … HOUSTON junior Kevin Newman and freshman Jordan Irwin earned Top 10 individual finishes at the First Tee/UALR Collegiate Classic to help lead the University of Houston golf team to a second-place showing Tuesday. It was the Cougars second tournament of the week as they finished in fifth place at the Border Olympics at Laredo Country Club. Sophomore Pablo Acuna posted a final-round score of even-par 72 Saturday to finish the 54-hole event at 1-over-par 217 and tied for fourth place… LOUISVILLE shot 300 in the final round of the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic on Tuesday to finish in a tie with Arkansas-Little Rock for eighth-place overall. The Cardinals were led by freshman Daryl Fathauer who finished in a tie for 22nd place by shooting 72-77-76=225. … MARQUETTE junior Joe Weber shot a 5-over-par 77 today to finish in ninth place, the best finish by a Golden Eagle, at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The Golden Eagles shot a final round 300 to secure a fourth-place finish (303-296-300=899) in the 12-team tournament in Pinehurst, N.C. Weber’s 222 total was his low 54-hole scoring effort of the spring and second best of the year. … MEMPHIS has been on a two-week break from competitive golf, but returns to action this weekend as one of four C-USA teams participating in the LSU Spring Invitational. … SAINT LOUIS topped Evansville, 7-3, on Friday at the Normandie Golf Club. Juniors David Perritt and Barry O'Neill tied for the lowest score with rounds of 71. … SOUTHERN MISS, fired a final round of 306 to finish fifth overall in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The Golden Eagles, which opened with a 305 and a 294 in rounds one and two, respectively, finished with a team total of 905 for the tournament. Freshmen Kyle Ramey and Grant Balcke both finished in the top 20, with Ramey shooting a 77-71-76--224 to finish tied for 10th. Balcke tied for 15th with his total of 228 (77-74-77). Southern Miss will host of the 2005 C-USA Men’s Golf Championship, April 18-20, at The Grand Bear in Gulfport, Miss. … TCU used a total team effort in a wire-to-wire 54-hole victory at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. It was the 12th-rated Horned Frogs' first tournament title of the 2004-05 campaign and comes just three weeks before the Conference USA Championships, where TCU will be seeking its school-record fifth straight league title. Senior J.J. Killeen shot a 66 to open the event and paced the Frogs with a 10th-place finish, carding a three-day score of 209 (-7) to log his third top-10 finish in his last four events. The nation's 30th-ranked player, Killeen has now placed among the top 20 in eight of the Frogs' nine tournaments this year. … TULANE was idle last week and the Green Wave returns to action April 1-3 at the LSU Spring Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. … UAB was idle last week. Sophomore Garrett Osborn was UAB's leading golfer, finishing in a tie for 21st after shooting a 219, including a three-under 69 in the final round of the Blazers last outing at the Oregon Duck Invitational. UAB returns to action April 8-10 at the Billy Hitchcock Invitational in Auburn, Ala. … USF was idle last week, but returns to the links as one of four C-USA teams participating in the LSU Spring Invitational.
