USF Women Finish Fifth in Impressive Field at LSU
Playing in what was their strongest field to date in 2001, the USF women's
golf team shot a final round 296 and moved up one spot to fifth place at the
LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La.
USF's 54-hole score of 907 was 43 strokes behind winner and host LSU, who
bettered second place Auburn by eight shots.
USF was led by its senior All-American Kelly Lagedrost, who finished eighth
after a final round 74 gave her a 222 total, 11 shots behind medalist Reilley
Rankin of Georgia. USF sophomore Kelly Martin also had a top 20 finish,
shooting a 54-hole 225 to tie for 17th place.
