C-USA GOLFERS OF THE WEEK (ENDING APRIL 11)

Tulsa freshman Nicolas Geyger and Memphis junior Stacey Tate were named the C-USA Golfers of the Week for tournament play during the week of April 5-11. Geyger becomes the fourth Golden Hurricane to win the honor after placing second at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C.. Tate won medalist honors for the third time in her last four outings, and second straight, as the top individual at the Lady Eagle Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Men's Golfer of the Week
Nicolas Geyger - Tulsa (Freshman, Santiago, Chile)

Geyger carded an eight-under par 208 (70-71-67) to place second out of a field of 78 golfers at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate. For the tournament, he shot nine-under par on holes 15 through 18 with nine birdie putts (birdied all four in the final round) and three even-par holes to lead TU to a seventh-place team finish. It was the freshman's best outing to date and his fourth Top 20 finish in his last five tournaments. Geyger becomes the fourth different Golden Hurricane player to earn C-USA Golfer of the Week honors, joining teammates Mitch Cohlmia (Feb. 15), Sam Korbe (Feb. 22) and Ryan Henry (April 5).

Women's Golfer of the Week
Stacey Tate - Memphis (Junior, Auckland, New Zealand)

Tate medaled for the third time in her last four tournaments, leading Memphis to its first team tournament victory in four years. Tate carded a one-under 70 in the final round to finish with a two-under 211 to better her own school record by three strokes. The junior also outshot the runner-up by nine strokes for the tournament. The win is the fourth career victory for the New Zealand native and it is her fourth C-USA Golfer of the Week honor. She becomes the only Memphis women's golfer to medal in four career tournaments.
