Trio Of C-USA Golf Squads Complete Play At Billiken Invitational

    Cincinnati, DePaul and host Saint Louis concluded play at the Billiken Invitational on Tuesday at the par-71, 6,739-yard Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. SLU finished in second place, two strokes behind overall team winner, Southern Illinois, with a three-day tally of 894. The Blue Demons took third place (912), while the Bearcats finished sixth in the 12-team field with a 921.

    SLU’s EVAN FREDRICK finished in second place among the individual competitors, firing a three-round total of 221, one stroke behind tournament winner, BRIAN NORMAN of Southern Illinois. DePaul’s JOSH SELLERS and RYAN BLECHLE of Saint Louis finished tied for third with a 222 total.

    ADAM FLUTY, a walk-on freshman, was Cincinnati’s top finisher, shooting a 223 three-day total for seventh place. The Blue Demons’ KYLE PATTERSON rounded out the C-USA competitors that finished in the Top 10, tying for 10th with 226.

    All three squads will be participating in the 2004 Conference USA Championship, April 19-21, at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
