Consistency Puts TCU, Houston Atop C-USA Men’s Golf; Louisville Makes Strong Move

    DADE CITY, Fla. -- While first round leader Charlotte faltered in today’s second round of the Conference USA Men’s Golf Championships at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club, TCU and Houston each posted a 289 and stand first and second entering Wednesday’s final round . TCU had shot 288 in the first round, while Houston was at 289.

    Louisville, who was tied for 10th after the first round, shot a 285 today and now stands fourth at 583 through 36 holes, six shots behind TCU and five behind Houston. UAB is third at 580.

    Despite Charlotte’s fall from first to a tie for seventh, Russell Killough leads all individuals with a four-under par 138 on the 7,083-yard course. He shot a one-under 70 today to go with his first round 68. TCU’s Adam Meyer is one shot back at 139 and Houston’s Brett Callas is at 140.

    Host South Florida is in a three-way tie for seventh with Charlotte and East Carolina after slipping to a 304 today, 14 shots off their first round 290.

    One other individual item of note was that Matt Wofford of Southern Miss had a hole-in-one on the 195-yard eighth hole.
