In addition to 2005 Conference USA Women’s Golf Champion Tulane, three other C-USA women’s golf teams and three individual golfers have been selected to compete in the 2005 NCAA Regionals, which will be held May 5-7.

The Green Wave earned the No. 6 seed in the East Regional, hosted by the University of Florida on the University Golf Course in Gainesville. Tulane, led by C-USA Golfer of the Year Alison Walshe and All-Tournament selection Liliana Alvarez, will be joined by East Carolina and all three individual participants in the East came from Conference USA programs. The Louisville pair of sophomore Adrienne White and senior Meghan Little, along with senior Brooke Mangan of UAB, will be among the 324 individuals competing in the three regionals. It marks the first time in U of L history that two individuals have been selected and Mangan becomes the first Blazer to ever qualify for the Regionals.

TCU and USF, who placed second and third, respectively, at the 2005 C-USA Championship, earned at-large selections to the Central Regional, hosted by Texas Tech University. Both squads have deep rosters and each team had five individuals finish in the Top 20 at the C-USA Championship. TCU sophomore Stacey Bieber placed second overall and the Bulls were led by C-USA Freshman of the Year Christina Jones.

Future Conference USA members Tulsa and SMU will also compete in the Central Regional at the Rawls Course in Lubbock. Tulsa earned an automatic berth as the WAC Champion, while the Mustangs were an at-large selection.

Eight teams and two individuals from each region will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 17-20. This year’s championship will be hosted by Oregon State at the prestigious Sunriver Resort on the Meadows Course.
