IRVING, Texas - Three Conference USA men's golf teams and one individual will represent the league at the 2006 NCAA Regionals, which will be held May 18-20.

C-USA Men's Golf Champion SMU received the automatic berth and will be joined by Tulsa and Houston. In addition, UAB senior Garrett Osborn was selected to participate as an individual.

Tulsa was awarded a No. 8 seed, and SMU, a 16th seed, will compete in the Central Regional, hosted by Cleveland State University. The schools will participate in the 27-team field played at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio. Tulsa is led by first-team All-Conference USA selection Sam Korbe. SMU senior Will Dodson shot a 65 on the final day of the C-USA Championship to earn medalist honors and lead the Mustangs to their automatic berth.

This marks the first time since 2002 that the Cougars will compete as a team at an NCAA Regional, rattling off four consecutive team tournament championships to open the 2006 spring season, accomplishing that feat for the first time in more than two decades. Junior Pablo Acuna, a 2006 All-Conference USA First-Team honoree won medalist honors at the Santa Anita/North Texas Classic on Feb. 19-20 and leads the team with a 72.0 scoring average,

Osborn, a first-team All-Conference USA selection, is one of six individuals competing in the East Regional, hosted by UCF and the Central Florida Sports Commission at Lake Nona Golf Course in Orlando, Fla.

Ten teams and two individuals from each region will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 31-June 3. This year's championship will be held at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore.
