DALLAS - SMU women's golfer Laura Cross won Tuesday's U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Sectional Qualifier at the Tangle Ridge Golf Club and will advance to the Finals, June 20-25, at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo.

Cross, a junior from Midlothian, shot an even-par 72 to win the event by one stroke. Cross is SMU's second participant in the event the past two seasons, as Lacey Jones advanced to match play in 2005.

Freshman Kate Ackerson also played in Monday's event, but failed to qualify.
