Stanford, Calif. - The University of Tulsa's seventh-ranked Arnau Brugues dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision to Stanford's 25th-ranked KC Corkery in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championships on Friday afternoon at the Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, California.

Corkery led the first set 4-1, but Brugues netted a comeback and won the set 6-4. Corkery dominated the second set, 6-2, to force a third set. Corkery again controlled the final set, winning 6-3.

Brugues tallied a 19-3 mark and became the highest-ranked played in TU history when he received a No. 6 Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking on March 21st. He was selected as the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Year, received all-conference first-team honors, was selected as the ITA's National Player to Watch and earned All-America status as he advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA singles tournament.
