Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week (March 15)

Senior Story Tweedie-Yates won six matches last week to help the Horned Frogs get off to their best start since the 1985-86 season. TCU is now 10-1 on the season with a perfect 5-0 record on the road. Tweedie-Yates won all three of her singles matches in straight sets. On March 9, No. 17 Tweedie-Yates topped Hala Sufi of Purdue, 6-3, 6-0, to help TCU win a tight 4-3 decision over the Boilermakers. A day later, the senior handled No. 99 Dora Vastag of Indiana, 6-1, 6-1, to lead the Frogs to a 5-2 win. On March 12 against Ohio State, Tweedie-Yates tallied her fourth straight win and 20th win overall with her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lindsey Adams. In doubles, Tweedie-Yates and sophomore Ana Cetnik paired to post a perfect 3-0 record. The 52nd ranked tandem topped No. 54 Lara Burgarello and Shawna Zuccarini of Purdue, 8-5. Against the Hoosiers, they were victorious over Sarah Batty and Dominika Walterova, 8-4. The pair rounded out the weekend by defeating Adams and Sonia Ruzimovsky of Indiana, 8-3, to improve to 9-1 this spring.
