Liz Cruz went undefeated during the week, including an impressive win against No. 67 Nancy Kockett, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, of C-USA foe Tulane at the No. 4 singles position. This marked the highest ranked opponent the freshman has ever defeated. Building upon her victory against Tulane, Cruz went into Coral Gables and defeated Miami senior Staci Stevens in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, at the No. 3 singles position. To top off her week, Cruz extended her win-streak to three matches with a neutral site win over Dartmouth’s Maggie Suydam, 6-0, 7-5, at the No. 4 singles position. The Bulls will return home to the USF Varsity Tennis Courts on March 30 to face Conference USA foe Marquette

Sherry Price finished the week with a 3-0 record playing at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to help the Golden Eagles improve to a 10-5 overall record for the season. The Florida native defeated Noanne Schickerling of Indiana State, 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7), and Francisca Osedumme of Southern, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), both at the No. 1 singles spot. Price then defeated Magali Risoleo of McNeese, 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 on March 26. The true freshman arrived in January and has posted a 12-3 record. Southern Miss finished the week with a 2-1 record with wins over Indiana State and Southern University. The Golden Eagles return to action on April 1 at Samford and April 2 at C-USA foe UAB.
