Jonsson won both matches at No. 1 singles over the weekend, defeating Virginia Tech's Davor Duplijak 6-1, 6-2 and Winthrop's Jon Leite 6-3, 7-5. Jonsson helped the 49ers post wins over (68) Virginia Tech, 5-2 and Winthrop, 5-2.
Victor Romero, (Sophomore, Antizapan, Mexico)- Tulane
Romero went 2-1 this past weekend defeating Tulsa's Pavel Sebastyanski 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles before posting a victory with teammate Jorge Lelvano against Micah Zomer and Mike Nammar from 43rd-ranked Tulsa, 8-5. Romero is now 12-3 in singles and 10-4 in doubles for the Green Wave, which is ranked 45rd in the nation.

Vladulesu, ranked 30th in the nation in singles, defeated Mississippi State's Amelie Detriviere, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles last weekend. This is the second straight week that Vladulesu has been named Player of the Week. In doubles action, Vladulesu and partner Monika Schmid defeated Claudia Oliveira and Carole Soubis, 8-4 at No. 1 singles. In the win over Houston, she beat 94th-ranked Sarah Borwell, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4.
