Darya Ivanov recorded two key singles wins and one doubles victory as No. 19 Tulane earned its second conference win of the year, 4-3 over No. 17 TCU on Saturday and upset No. 15 Baylor, 4-3, on Sunday. In Saturday’s win at TCU, Ivanov won her first set 6-4 at No. 4 over Ana Cetnik, but dropped the second, 6-3, before coming back to take the match with a 6-3 third frame. Against Baylor’s Klara Zrustova on Sunday, Ivanov notched a 6-4 first set victory, but fell behind 5-2 in the second before storming back to win with a 7-6 (7) second set. In doubles play, after the No. 46 Ivanov tandem (Darya and sister Maria) battled back to defeat Baylor’s top team of Covello/Cerna, ranked No. 31 nationally, 9-7.This weekend’s wins were eighth and ninth consecutive victories for the Green Wave (17-5). Ivanov’s record moves to 14-4 on the spring and 21-8 overall. The Green Wave return to action on Wednesday, hosting LSU in a twilight match starting at 5 p.m.
