No. 19 Tulane earned the league’s top seed at the 2005 C-USA Men’s Tennis Championship. The event will be held at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, April 21-24. Coming off three titles in the last four seasons, including back-to-back championships in 2003 and 2004, the Green Wave are the league’s top-ranked team and are currently 18-5 on the season.

No. 42 TCU, coming off two straight appearances in the C-USA final, earned the No. 2 seed, while host Louisville, the No. 34 team in the country, garnered the No. 3 seed. The Horned Frogs are 7-13 on the season, after a tough schedule, including seven of the nation’s Top 10 teams. The Cards (19-8) have won eight of their last nine matches.

No. 74 Memphis is the fourth seed, followed by UAB at five, USF at six, DePaul at seven and Southern Miss at eight. Memphis reached the semifinals for the first time in 2003 and closed out the season with an 11-10 mark. Rounding out the championship bracket are ninth-seed Charlotte, No. 10 East Carolina, No. 11 Marquette and No. 12 Saint Louis.

The C-USA Men’s Tennis Tournament gets underway on Thursday with four first round matches beginning at 8 a.m. The quarterfinals are Friday, April 22 beginning at 8 a.m., while the semifinals take place Saturday, April 23 beginning at 9 a.m. A ninth-place consolation round will also be played Friday and Saturday. The championship match is slated for Sunday, April 24 at 11 a.m. All main draw matches will take place at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
