CHICAGO – Tulane’s MICHAEL KOGAN has been named Conference USA Player of the Year for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year, while Tulane head coach ROBERT KLEIN earned the league’s Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season after guiding the Green Wave to their fourth C-USA championship on April 18 in Memphis. The Green Wave’s DAVID GOULET has been named C-USA Freshman of the Year. The awards were selected in a vote of the league’s 12 head coaches.

In his final season, Kogan sparked No. 19 Tulane to a fourth C-USA Championship title. The ITA All-American has led the Green Wave to the C-USA title match in each of his four seasons, with the team earning three championships in his career. He compiled a 20-5 overall singles mark this year and is currently ranked No. 12 in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. A native of Kfar-Saba, Israel, Kogan posted a 16-1 doubles record with Goulet and the pair sits at No. 15 in the nation.

In his 11th season as head coach at Tulane, Klein directed the Wave to their fourth conference crown, defeating No. 74 Memphis in the semifinals and No. 16 TCU in the title match. Tulane has enjoyed six appearances in the C-USA championship finals, earning a total of four titles (2004, 2003, 2001 and 1997). The title match victory marked Klein’s 200th career win. The Green Wave will make its eighth straight appearance in the NCAA Championship.

In addition to a 26-5 doubles record, Goulet compiled a 15-14 singles record this season at primarily the No. 4 spot, and clinched the match victory over TCU in the conference championship final.
