C-USA Sends Three Teams to NCAA Men's Tennis Championship

Tulane, Louisville and TCU will represent Conference USA in the 2005 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship, the NCAA announced today. It marks the fourth consecutive season that C-USA will have three teams in the event. No. 20 Tulane (21-5) earned the league’s automatic bid after winning its third straight C-USA championship crown and will make its ninth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Championship. Louisville, ranked No. 33, is making its first back-to-back appearance in the NCAA Championship, after reaching the finals of the C-USA Championship and compiling a 21-9 record on the season. No. 45 TCU (8-14) is making its 15th straight appearance.

The Green Wave will face No. 42 Louisiana-Lafayette (12-7) in Baton Rouge, La. Louisville travels to Champaign, Ill. to play No. 32 Notre Dame (18-7), while TCU meets No. 17 Wake Forest (16-6) in Lubbock, Texas.

NCAA first and second round matches will be played May 13-15 on 16 campus sites. Winners of the second round matches advance to College Station, Texas. Singles and doubles team selections for the championship will be announced on Thursday on the NCAA's website at www.ncaachampionships.com.
