C-USA Sends One Singles Player; Two Doubles Pairs



IRVING, TEXAS – C-USA Player of the Year FABRIZIO SESTINI of TCU will represent Conference USA at the 2005 NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship, it was announced today. Sestini is also part of two doubles teams that will compete in the event as well. The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 25-30 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas, following the conclusion of the team championship. The singles field consists of 64 players, while the doubles field is made up of 32 teams.

Sestini compiled a 20-13 overall record playing No. 1 singles for the Horned Frogs. He is currently the top-ranked singles player in the league at No. 29 and achieved a career-high rating of 20th this season, while knocking off five players currently ranked among the top 25. Sestini earned first team All-Conference USA honors in 2005 and was recently named to the C-USA All-Decade Team for men’s tennis. He has also been ranked in doubles this season, currently at No. 13, with teammate RAFAEL ABREU. The duo will be a part of the doubles competition.

Tulane senior DMITRIY KOCH and sophomore ALBERTO SOTTOCORNO will also compete in the doubles field. Currently ranked No. 27, the pair has compiled a 16-6 record on the season.
