Tulane's Kogan Advances To The Round of 16 At 2003 NCAA Tennis Championships

ATHENS, Ga. - Tulane’s Michael Kogan advanced to the third round of the 2003 NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory over California’s Robert Kowalczyk on Thursday at the University of Georgia.

Kogan, the 11th-ranked player in the country, registered his 14th straight singles win and moves on to face hometown favorite, Bo Hodge of Georgia on Friday at Noon in the round of 16.

Kogan also teamed with partner, Victor Romero, on Thursday to post a 7-6, 7-5 win over USC’s Prakash Amritaj and Daniel Lange in the championships doubles play. The Green Wave duo, ranked 26th nationally, advances to play the winner of the match between Miami’s Andrew Golub and Colin Purcell and Texas’ Jean Simon and Jose Zarhi.
