Tulane Doubles Team Ousted in Quarterfinals of NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament

Victor Romero

ATHENS, Ga. - After a brilliant run in the NCAA Men's Tennis Doubles Championship, the Tulane University tandem of Michael Kogan and Victor Romero was defeated by the tournament's top-seeded team in the quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at the University of Georgia.

Kogan and Romero, ranked No. 5 in the nation, lost to the brother combination of Richard and William Barker from Rice University, 6-3, 6-4. The Barkers have now won 35 straight matches and own a perfect 26-0 record this spring.

The performance by the Green Wave team earns All-America recognition for the squad, which they also received due to their top 16 seed in the tournament.
