Tulane's Buff and Monhartova Named Academic All-District
NEW ORLEANS - Tulane women's golfer Pam Buff and women's tennis player
Anna Monhartova were named academic all-district by the College
Sports Information Directors of America.
Buff, a junior from Duluth, Ga., was selected to the 2000 GTE Academic
All-District VI Spring Women's At-Large Team after helping the Green
Wave women's golf team to its first-ever appearance in the NCAA
Regionals. On the year, Buff posted a 77.33 stroke average and earned
four top-10 finishes. She was named the Conference USA Player of the
Year for the third straight season. Buff is a Chemical Engineering
major with a 3.557 grade point average.
Monhartova, junior from Plzen, Czech Republic, was also selected to the
team after leading the Tulane women's tennis to a 14-9 overall record
and third-place finish at the 2000 Conference USA Championships. She
finished the year with a 14-9 record at No. 1 singles and garnered first
team all-Conference USA accolades for the second straight season.
Monhartova is a Political Science/Russian major with a 3.814 grade point
average.
Three Tulane student-athletes have earned GTE Academic All-District
honors this spring.
