Wenston Riley, Southern Miss

Riley posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 100-meter high hurdles at the Alabama Relays with a time of 13.77 to finish second. In the Golden Eagles season opener, Riley finished first in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.03.

NOTING C-USA MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
CHARLOTTE competed in the Wake Forest Invitational last weekend in Winston-Salem, N.C. PETE FINK tied the
school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 15'1" to win the event. He now shares the record
with Kevin Hanrahan, who initially set the mark in 1995. The 49ers return to action at the Raleigh Relays
and the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday. CINCINNATI turned in a strong outing at the Alabama
Relays on Sunday. Senior JARED BURKHOLDER posted the men's top performance, placing second in the high jump
with a mark of 7'0 ¼, which was also a personal best. MIKE YODER finished seventh in the pole vault (15'5).
The Bearcats return to action hosting Bowling Green, Toledo, Marshall, Ohio, Morehead State, Louisville
and Butler on March 31. DE PAUL competed in the Alabama Relays and placed 22nd out of 32 teams in the
two-day event. CAREY RYAN finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 66.68 meters. The Blue Demons
will compete in the Purdue Open on Saturday. HOUSTON participated in the Texas Southern Relays on Saturday.
ROBERT FOSTER won the 100-meter dash with a career-best time of 10.39. TOARTOU KARGOU won the 1,500-meter
race in a time of 4:02.50; and MIKE OLAGUE placed second with a time of 6'10.25. The Cougars host the Tom
Tellez Invitational on Saturday. MEMPHIS finished the Alabama Relays with five top-10 performances on Sunday.
STEPHAN MATSCHINER recorded the highest finish in the two-day event, placing fourth in the 1,500-meter
relay with a time of 3:49.90. SOUTHERN MISS was led by WENSTON RILEY at the Alabama Relays last weekend.
Riley finished second out of 55 performers in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 13.77. He previously
won the same event at the Southern Miss Invitational with a time of 14.03. TULANE competed in the Alabama
Relays this past weekend. NATHAN JUNIUS won the javelin throw with a mark of 72.92 meters. His throw was an
NCAA automatic qualifying standard. His throw was the second-best in school history and is the second-best
javelin throw this season.
