Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA has named Tulsa's Mark Davidson and UCF's Lizzie Harris as its Male and Female Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. The award is the first for both student-athletes. Davidson won the men's 1,500m with a time of 3:55.92 at the Sooner Twilight in Norman, Okla., last weekend, while Harris qualified for the NCAA East Regional in three events. She recorded qualifying marks in the high jump, 400-meter hurdles and the 4x100-meter relay team at the UCF Invitational in Orlando. C-USA OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD NOTEBOOK & TOP PERFORMANCES The 2008 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are set for May 15-17 in El Paso, Texas, at Kidd Field.
C-USA MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK MARK DAVIDSON, TULSA Earlier this season, Davidson qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional in the 1,500m at the John McConnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. in at time of 3:46.74, the fastest-time in C-USA.
C-USA FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK She cleared a regional qualifying high jump leap of 1.75-meters to finish tied for second place. Harris also recorded a regional-qualifying time of 59.80 in the 400-meter hurdles for the first time this season. She concluded the meet by running the second leg of the school-record-setting 4x100-meter relay that turned in an NCAA qualifying time of 45.47.
