CONFERENCE USA CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK AND NOTEBOOK

C-USA Cross Country Notebook

Stephanie Gammon of UAB and Zack Montijo of ECU have been tabbed Athletes of the Week after leading their teams to top finishes at the Brooks Memphis Twilight and Adidas Wolfpack Invitational.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
STEPHANIE GAMMON, UAB
So., Central, S.C. (Daniel HS)
Gammon led UAB to a third-place finish at the Brooks Memphis Twilight in the 36 team invitation. Finishing the 5K run with a time of 18:39.04 gave Gammon an 11th-place finish among the 275 athletes who competed. This is Gammon's second consecutive weekly honor.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Zack Montijo, East Carolina
Fr., Lansdale,Pa. (North Penn)
Montijo was East Carolina's top finisher at the Adidas Wolfpack Invitational. Running in his first collegiate meet, he led the Pirates to a second-place team finish in the 14-team field. His 5K time of 15:41 was eighth best overall.
