    Marquette's Susan Barth earns her second consecutive C-USA Athlete of the Week after leading the 20th-ranked Golden Eagles to a first-place finish at the Bradley Open. Barth also placed first place individually with a record course time of 17:17.

    Women - SUSAN BARTH, Marquette

    Barth finished first out of 200 runners with a record course time of 17:17 at the Bradley Open last weekend. Her time broke the previous record held by Bradley’s Mary Ellen Hill in 1998. As a team, Marquette also claimed its third consecutive Bradley Open team title.

    Men - JACKSON LANGAT, TCU

    Langat won the UNT Cross Country Opener with a time of 20:35 in the four-mile race last weekend. The junior transfer led the Frogs to a third-place finish in the team standings.

    Women
    Charlotte finished second to Wake Forest at the Wake Forest Alumni Invitational last weekend. CASSIE FICKEN placed fifth overall to lead the 49ers with a time of 18:50.00. LAURA SYRACUSE and JEN TAYLOR were also among the top 10, finishing seventh and 10th, respectively. Charlotte will next compete at the Winthrop Invitational on Saturday … Cincinnati finished sixth out of 11 teams at the Mel Brodt Invitational last weekend. RUSH LIMO posted her second straight top 10 performance with a sixth-place showing (18:48) … DePaul’s SHELLY KNIGHT finished 32nd to lead the Blue Demons at the Pre-NCAA Regional meet last weekend in Normal, Ill. She posted a time of 24:42.57, while JESSICA KARLIN followed in 38th place with a time of 25:03.59. The Blue Demons will next travel to East Lansing, Mich., and compete in the Spartan Invitational on Friday …Houston placed second at the Southwest Texas State Invitational behind Texas on Sept. 14. KELLY MCCARTY led the Cougars with a second-place finish among 87 runners as she completed the three-mile course in 17:56. JESSICA OAKES was sixth with a time of 18:27 and AUTUMN TAWATER placed 11th overall with a time of 19:01 ... The 20th-ranked Marquette squad came away with a resounding victory, ending the event with only 18 points in the 5K race at the Bradley Open last weekend. It also marked the third consecutive time that the Golden Eagles have won the Bradley Open. The top-three spots were claimed by Golden Eagles and the team had five runners in the top-ten finishers out of a field of over 200-runners. Senior SUSAN BARTH (17:17) finished first and was followed closely by seniors JESSIE SWAN (17:18) and JACKIE SWAN (17:44). Barth’s time of 17:17 in the 5k race broke the Bradley Open record, previously set by Mary Ellen Hill (Bradley) by two seconds… WENDY RAGLE led Memphis to a second-place finish at the Murray State Invitational last weekend. Ragle captured second-place honors with a time of 12:12, while LESLIE DALEY (13:00) and HAYLEY FUTRELL followed in sixth and seventh, respectively … Saint Louis finished ninth out of 10 teams at the Bradley Open in Peoria, Ill., last weekend. AIMEE WALTHER was the top finisher for SLU at 19:09 over 5K, which was good for 42nd … South Florida won its first event of the season at the Bulldog Stampede last weekend. CHRISTA BENTON captured first-place honors overall, winning the 5k event with a time of 17:54. It marked her first career collegiate cross country win after a third-place finish at the Indiana Open on Aug. 30. South Florida will have a week off before it competes at the Great America Cross Country Festival on Sept. 27 … Southern Miss finished fifth in its own 23rd Annual Southern Miss Invitational last weekend. The Golden Eagles had two runners place in the top 10 with JESSICA CRUMP earning ninth-place honors (19:57.47) and KERI WHITE claiming 10th (19:59.44) out of 79 runners. Rounding out the USM top finishers included TOMEKA SHAFFER, who placed 19th with a time of 20:43.62 and ALISHA EDWARDS, who was 31st (22:13.15) ... TCU finished second at the UNT Opener last weekend. Individually, the Horned Frogs placed third, fourth and fifth in the event. ALAYNE THOMPSON led TCU with a time of 11:14, placing third. She was followed by EMILY FIELD, who finished fourth (11:17) and KATRINA ZIELINKSKI, who placed fifth (11:49) … For the second consecutive weekend, EVA LUSTIGOVA led Tulane to a first place finish in the 11-team Southern Miss Invitational. She placed fourth among 79 runners with a time of 19:11.81. Other top finishers for the Green Wave women were sophomore MEGAN WHELTON and freshman LISA GREEN, who took 11th and 13th place, respectively.

    Charlotte placed second behind the Demon Deacons at the Wake Forest Alumni Invitational last weekend. VINCE SHERRY led the 49ers, winning the 8K race with a time of 25:14.90. ED SCHLICHTER also finished in the top 10, placing seventh ... Placing eight runners in the top 22, Cincinnati won the Mel Brodt Invitational last weekend. Senior CHRIS REIS led the charge for UC, pacing fifth in a time of 25:30. Senior DAN CASEY also earned a top 10 finish, placing 10th in 26:06. ERIC BAIR was right behind in 11th place, with a clip of 26:12 … RICK BRITTON led DePaul at the Pre-NCAA Regional meet last weekend. He finished 25th with a time of 27:34.34. KIM TRIEU and MIKE SCAFIDE followed in 30th and 58th place, respectively. The Blue Demons will next take part in the Spartan Invitational on Friday in East Lansing, Mich. ... Houston finished second at the Southwest Texas State Invitational last weekend. MIKE OLAGUE led the Cougars with a fourth place finish among 69 competitors. Olague finished the five-mile course in 25:10. JASON BANES finished the race in sixth place with a time of 25:56, while COLE DAILEY was ninth overall with a time of 26:09 … Louisville received some strong performances from a pair of freshmen as the Cardinals finished ninth at the NAVY Invitational last weekend. Louisville finished with 251 points in the 15-team event. Freshman TIM KAISER led the Cards with a 35th-place finish after running the 8000-meter course with a time of 26:11.41. CHRIS DAVIS placed 50th with a time of 26:55.87 to round out the Cardinals’ top 50 finishers. Louisville returns to action on Sept. 28 when it competes in the Greater Louisville Classic at the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park … Marquette claimed first-place honors with a one-point victory over Eastern Illinois at the Bradley Open last weekend. The Golden Eagles finished with 43 points and posted four runners in the top 20 finishers of over 200-runners. Freshman BRENT DES ROCHES Brent (25:09) led Marquette with his sixth place finish. Junior JAKE REMITZ (25:10) was only one second behind Des Roches for the seventh place spot, while BO ERICKSON and JASON CRICHTON followed in 10th and 14th place, respectively ... Memphis’ HUGH FERRY finished fifth overall at the Murray State Invitational last weekend. He covered the event with a time of 21:41.9, while TRAVIS PRESSLER and REHAN MAHOOD claimed sixth and ninth-place honors, respectively … Saint Louis notched an eighth-place finish at the Bradley Open last weekend. PATRICK HENCHY was the top SLU runner, finishing 73rd with an 8K time of 26:58.2 … South Florida’s ANDREW SMITH placed second overall at the Bulldog Stampede to lead the men’s squad to a fifth-place finish in the team standings. Smith covered the 8K event with a time of 25:33, while SEAN BURRIS placed 14th with a time of 26:56 … TCU’s JACKSON LANGAT posted a time of 20:35 in the men's four-mile race to claim individual honors at the UNT Opener last weekend. As a team, the Horned Frogs finished third behind UT-Arlington and SMU. JOHN BUNDREN finished ninth with a time of 21:32, while BRAD MACIALEWICZ was 11th with a time of 21:44 … For the second week in a row, ADAM LESKIS was the top male finisher for Tulane, however, this time he led the Green Wave to victory at the 12-team Southern Miss Invitational. Leskis took fourth place among 97 collegiate runners with a time of 21:39.09 over the four-mile course. Sophomore WILL LANDRY was ninth with a time of 22:04.46, while sophomore MARK WILLIAMS and junior RYAN GALLAGHER placed 15th and 17th, respectively for Tulane.
