C-USA Cross Country Notebook

Sophomore Silje Fjortoft of SMU and Japheth Ng'ojoy of UTEP pick up this week's Athlete of the Week honors after top finishes at the Texas A&M and New Mexico State Invitational's last weekend.

FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 
SILJE FJORTOFT, SMU
So., Orsta, Norway
Fjortoft, C-USA’s 2007 Freshman of the Year, clocked a first-place time of 16:33.03 over the 5,000-meter course at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station Saturday. The winning mark was more than 40 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. She led the Mustangs to a second-place finish in the 12-team competition while also leading four other teammates to finish in the top 20.

MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JAPHETH NG'OJOY, UTEP
Sr., Kapsabet, Kenya
Ng’ojoy clocked in at 15:35 to place second in the 5K Kachina Classic in Las Cruces, N.M. Saturday. This marks the second weekly honor for the senior this season.
