TCU's Alayne Thompson and Kyle MacKenzie of East Carolina were named C-USA Cross Country Athletes of the Week.

Women – ALAYNE THOMPSON, TCU
Thompson won her first collegiate title last weekend as she claimed individual honors at the Sam Houston State Invitational. Thompson ran the 5k course in a time of 19:06 to lead the Frogs to a second-place finish in the seven-team event.
Men – KYLE MACKENZIE, East Carolina
MacKenzie finished in third place at the Wolfpack Invitational last weekend after posting a career-best time of 25:02. He was one of five ECU runners to place among the top 10 at the meet as the Pirates won the team title.

NOTING CONFERENCE USA CROSS COUNTRY Women Charlotte finished third out of 10 teams at the Winthrop Invitational last weekend. JEN TAYLOR and LAURA SYRACUSE finished among the top 10 individuals, placing third and sixth. JENNY SNIFFEN was the next runner to cross the line for the 49ers. Her time of 19:54.80 was good for 17th overall. ANDRIA CRAIG was the team's fourth runner with a time of 20:45.95 to finish 33rd. The 49ers run at the Great American Cross Country Festival next weekend … ERIN MOFFETT led a trio of DePaul runners that placed in the top 15 at the Spartan Invitational on Sept. 20 at Forest Akers East Golf Course. Moffett finished sixth overall in a time of 18:03 while LEAH RYGH was 12th in 18:43 and MARLENE KEY placed 14th in 18:45 … Houston placed third among seven teams with a score of 76 at the Sam Houston State Invitational last weekend. Freshman AUTUMN TAWATER was Houston’s top performer as she finished in fourth place with a time of 19:49. TERI LITTLEPAGE was eighth among the collegiate runners with a time of 20:08, while SHAWNA FLORIDA finished 18th (20:39) … Junior EMILY DAUNHAUER placed 12th overall to lead Louisville to a fourth-place finish at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic in Nashville. Daunhaer led the Cards for the third straight meet this season with a 5,000-meter time of 19:47.44, while sophomore HEATHER GRIFFITH came in 24th. Freshman EMILY LEEPER placed 28th (19:59.09). Louisville returns to action on Saturday when it competes in the Greater Louisville Classic … Memphis finished ninth out of 11 schools at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic last weekend. Senior WENDY RAGLE led the team with a 48th place finish with a time of 20:48.48. Teammates LESLIE DALEY and HAYLEY FUTRELL finished 68th and 70th, respectively. Daley crossed the line in 21:29.87, while Futrell posted a time of 21:33.73 … Saint Louis posted one of its best finishes ever at the National Catholic Championship meet held in South Bend, Ind. The Billikens placed fifth overall out of 28 teams. Senior AIMEE WALTHER paced the Billikens with a time of 19:41 over 5K to finish 17th overall. Newcomer JANELLE DECKER came home second for SLU with a time of 20:16 for 33rd place overall. REILLY DESANTIS clocked a 20:27 with MEGAN IRWIN just behind at 20:46 … Southern Miss finished sixth out of 13 teams at the 15th Annual Crimson Classic Invitational last weekend. The Eagles had two runners finish in the top 15: JESSICA CRUMP, who placed ninth (19:26.26) and KERI WHITE (19:37.23), who was 13th. TOMEKA SHAFFER (21:08.99) and ALISHA EDWARDS (21:55.66) followed in 30th and 40th place, respectively ... Rounding out the Top 12 for the Frogs were KATRINA ZIELINSKI, who finished fifth (19:54) and HEATHER ISBELL, who placed 11th (20:22). As a team, TCU has now finished second in each of its first two events … EVA LUSTIGOVA led Tulane to a second place finish at the Ragin’ Cajun Invitational last weekend. Lustigova placed fourth among 70 runners with a time of 19:26, while sophomore MEGAN WHELTON posted a time of 20:31 for ninth place … UAB finished seventh at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala., last weekend. Junior AMANDA KARA has been UAB’s top runner in all three meets thus far. Kara placed 10th at the Crimson Classic, while HEATHER BURDETTE followed in 27th place and RINA KARA placed 35th. The Blazers’ next meet will be the Rhodes Invitational on Oct. 5 in Nashville, Tenn.
Men LUIS SAMAYOA finished in 27th place to pace DePaul at the Spartan Invitational on Sept. 20 at the Forest Akers East Golf Course. Samayoa's time was 26:22, while DARSHAN PATEL finished 46th overall in 27:03 and DONNIE WARNER was 47th in 27:04 ... ECU finished first at the Wolfpack Invitational last weekend. KYLE MACKENZIE placed third overall with a time of 25:02. He was one of five ECU runners to place among the top 10 at the meet … Houston posted its best showing of the season with a second place finish out of nine teams with 63 points at the Sam Houston State Invitational. Freshman SESAR FIGUEROA led the Cougars as he finished in third place among the collegiate runners with a time of 24:11. Sophomore JASON BANES finished just behind Figueroa with a time of 24:14 ... Memphis placed third out of nine teams at the Vanderbilt Commodore Classic last weekend. BALAZS LASZLO posted his second top 5 finish in as many races with a third-place showing. HUGH FERRY (27:40.26) and TRAVIS PRESSLER (27:53.66) followed in 14th and 18th place, respectively … Saint Louis placed 16th out of 25 teams at the National Catholic Championship Meet in South Bend, Ind. JOE PORTER finished in 43rd place for SLU with a time of 27:40 over the 8K course. PAT HENCHY was right behind his teammate with a time of 27:43 in 44th place. Freshman MIKE ISAAC was third for the Bills in a time of 27:56 … TCU posted a seventh place finish at the Sam Houston State Invitational last weekend. JACKSON LANGAT finished fifth individually with a time of 24:24. BRAD MACIULEWICZ was second among the TCU men as he placed 27th with a time of 25:32 … For the third week in a row, ADAM LESKIS was the top male finisher for Tulane, leading the Green Wave to victory at the Ragin’ Cajun Invitational Invitational last weekend. Leskis took fourth place among 97 collegiate runners with a time of 28:41 over the 8K course. He was followed by sophomore WILL LANDRY, who finished eighth with a time of 29:00 and LUKE HOOPER, who was 12th (29:33).
