Conference USA has awarded athletes of the week honors to Stephen Magness of Houston and Rice's Marissa Daniels. Magness clocked an 8K time of 24:37 to finish fourth, while Daniels dominated the field with a winning time of 17:19, a full 15 seconds ahead of the field of 99, at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.

Senior Stephen Magness clocked an 8K time of 24:37 to finish fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas. Magness followed three men, two from ranked regional teams and the 2006 Texas A&M Invitational winner. The Houston native also led the Cougars to a fourth-place team finish. The three teams that the Cougars followed were all regionally ranked in the top-10.

Senior Marissa Daniels dominated the field at the Texas A&M Invitational, winning the individual race in 17:19, a full 15 seconds ahead of the field of 99. The victory is her second in consecutive weeks as she once again led the Owls to the team title in commanding fashion. Rice tallied 30 points, well ahead of second-place Texas' 62 and the host Aggies' 71. The 5,035-meter course in College State, Texas, featured 12 teams.
