UAB Women Place Third at Chattanooga Invite

MOCASSIN BEND, Tenn. -- The UAB women's cross coutry team took third place at the Chattanooga Invitational hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. For the 5,000 meter event, the team finished with a total score of 74, 47 points behind Vanderbilt who had a winning total of 27 points. Host UTC placed second with 28 points.

Freshman Andrea Burdett was the top finisher for the Blazers with a time of 19:32, finishing in 12th spot. Next in line was freshman Andrea Bradford who was one place back at 13th with a time of 19:41.

Also finishing in the top twenty were Amanda Kara in 15th with a time of 19:53 and Carla Kelly in 19th with a time of 20:09.

The Blazers will compete next at the Conference USA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., on October 28.
