    TCU's Alayne Thompson finished fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational, while East Carolina's Kyle MacKenzie posted an ECU course record at the N.C. Intercollegiate Championships to earn C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolades.

    C-USA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

    Women –, Alayne Thompson, TCU

    Thompson finished fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational, running the 6k course in a time of 21:50 to lead the Horned Frogs to a seventh-place finish in the team standings. It also marked Thompson’s fourth top-five finish of the season.

    Men – Kyle MacKenzie, East Carolina

    MacKenzie finished fifth at the N.C. Intercollegiate Championships, establishing a new ECU course record at Lake Kristi with a time of 24:52. As a team, the Pirates claimed third-place honors out of eight teams at the meet.

    Women
    Cincinnati finished eighth out of 39 teams at the All-Ohio Championship last weekend. RUTH LIMO (18:50) paced the women with a 12th-place finish, marking the first time this season Limo has not placed in the top 10 of a race. KAREN BERLING (19:57) came in with a 47th place finish. … East Carolina captured a fourth-place showing at the N.C. Intercollegiate Championships last weekend. KAY LIVICK established a new school record with a time of 18:05 to finish fourth overall. Senior MELINDA DUBOSE recorded the Pirates` second-highest finish of the meet, coming in 17th place with a time of 18:47. CAITLIN LITTLEFIELD continued to show improvement as she finished in 30th place with a time of 19:19 … Houston finished in third place at the Texas A&M Invitational on Oct. 12. Sophomore Kelly McCarty paced the Cougars with a ninth-place finish with a time of 22:30. HEATHER HOWSE finished 21st with a time of 23:12, while JULIE PEREZ placed 30th (23:24) and TERIE LITTLEPAGE finished 31st with a time of 23:25. In addition, AUTUMN TAWATER completed the course in 23:35 to finish in 37th place … Senior WENDY RAGLE led Memphis to a ninth-place finish at the SIU-Carbondale Invitational last Saturday. Ragle finished 29th overall in 19:59.85, her first time under 20 minutes on a 5K course so far this season. Seniors LESLIE DALEY and HAYLEY FUTRELL were the next two Tigers across the line, finishing 42nd and 50th, respectively. Daley finished in 20:20.90, while Futrell posted a time of 21:04.36. Both were personal bests for the season … Saint Louis finished in sixth place out of nine teams at the Saluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill. on Oct. 12. Senior AIMEE WALTHER was the top Saint Louis runner, finishing 13th overall with a time of 19:15 over the 5K race. JANELLE DECKER was second for SLU in a time of 19:39, while MEGAN IRWIN posted a time of 19:50 … ALAYNE THOMPSON captured her fourth straight top-five finish to lead TCU to a sixth-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational Cross Country Meet. Thompson, who was one of three Frogs to finish among the top-20, ran the 6K course in a time of 21:50. Also placing in the top-20 was KATRINA ZIELINSKI and HEATHER ISBELL, as they finished 16th and 17th, respectively. Zielinski, who finished in the top-20 for the third time this season, crossed the finish line in a time of 22:50. Isbell also posted her third top-20 finish of the season as she recorded a time of 22:52. SHANNON MCKINNEY finished 53rd with a time of 24:22, while KATIE COSGROVE placed 76th with a time of 24:57.


    Men
    Cincinnati posted a third-place finish at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. Freshman KEVIN SCHWARZ led the Bearcats with a 14th place finish (26:25) finishing first on the team for the second time this season. ERIC BAIR. (26:39) and CHRIS REIS (26:44) followed, placing 20th and 24th, respectively. DAN CASEY crossed the line in 36th place with a time of 27:14. MIKE SMITH (27:24) placed 43rd, while ANDY WIETMARSCHEN (27:25) followed closely behind in 45th place. TIM KING (27:36) rounded out UC¹s participants with a 54th- place finish … KYLE MACKENZIE established a new East Carolina course record at the 2002 N.C. Intercollegiate Championships held at Lake Kristi on Oct. 12. ECU finished third out of eight teams at the meet. MacKenzie finished in fifth place overall as he also recorded a personal best time of 24:52 in the 8K race. KRISTIAN JORGENSEN finished just outside the top 10 with a mark of 25:29 to place 11th overall. RYAN STROHL and JASON LEE each earned top 30 finishes, placing 23 and 29th respectively. Strohl completed the meet with a time of 26:24, while Lee ran the course in 26:35 … Houston captured a third-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational on Oct. 12. Senior MIKE OLAGUE paced the Cougars with a third-place finish (26:06). RONNIE MARTINEZ had a time of 28:00 to finish in 22nd place, while SESAR FIGUEROA followed in 24th place (28:03). The Cougars will host the Houston Invitational on Saturday at the Texas National Golf Course … Memphis finished eighth out of nine teams at the SIU-Carbondale Invitational last weekend. Senior HUGH FERRY, a transfer from Campbell University, led the Tigers with an 11th-place finish in 26:20.71, improving his 8K time by 23 seconds. Senior TRAVIS PRESSLER finished 17th overall in 26:37.90, shaving almost a full minute off his previous best. Senior RYAN SMITH finished 38th overall in 27:55.08 while twin brothers RAHAD MAHMOOD (28:30.15) and IMRAN MAHMOOD (29:10.29) finished 45th and 50th, respectively … Saint Louis came home in seventh place at the Saluki Invitational on Oct. 12 in Carbondale, Ill. PAT HENCHY was the top Billiken with a time of 29:09 to finish 25th overall. MIKE MCCASLIN recorded a time of 27:28 for SLU, while JOE PORTER was third for the SLU at 27:30. … TCU finished 12th at the Texas A&M Invitational Cross Country Meet last weekend. JACKSON LANGAT posted a sixth-place showing (28:59), marking his third top-10 finish of the year. BRAD MACIULEWICZ finished 42nd, running the course in a time of 28:59, while STEVEN LENNEY recorded a time of 29:17, finishing 54th. RAITA YAMANOUCHI placed 84th with a time of 30:44, and CASE MARTINEC notched a time of 31:06 for 91st place.
