Women Christa Benton, South Florida
Benton turned in another impressive performance finishing third at the Auburn Invitational with a season best time of 16:57.31. It was Bentons third top-three finish out of her five races this season.
Men Luis Samayoa, DePaul
Samayoa led the Blue Demons to a second-place showing out of 25 teams at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational last weekend. Samayoa notched a time of 25:34 to finish 12th overall.

NOTING CONFERENCE USA CROSS COUNTRY Women Charlotte placed 15th in the open race of the NCAA Pre-National Meet at Indiana State. CASSIE FICKEN was the lead runner for both 49ers. She was 17th overall to pace the women with a time of 22:09 on the 6K course
Cincinnati finished 10th out of 29 teams at the NCAA Pre-Nationals Invitational last weekend. RUTH LIMO placed in the top 10 for the fifth time in six races with a 10th-place showing (21:54). JENNIFER LIMLE finished 60th with a time of 23:08, while MISSY TITUS followed in 86th place with a time of 23:30
DePaul captured an 11th-place finish at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational in Kenosha, Wis., last weekend. ERIN MOFFETT placed 10th overall with a time of 18:30, while MARLENE KEYS took 34th place (19:13). SHELLY KNIGHT followed in 41st place with a time of 19:19
Despite battling cooler temperatures and a steady rain, Louisville placed five runners in the top 10 to win the Evansville Invitational. Junior EMILY DAUNHAUER led the Cardinals with a fourth-place finish with a time of 18:19.14. Sophomore CORRYN MCCRAE (18:27.65) and freshman EMILY LEEPER (18:37.98) placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Freshman CRYSTAL DUFFALA came in eighth and junior BETH WENDT followed in 10th to round out the Cards' top 10 finishers. Also turning in strong performances were LAINE HAMMAN (11th), ASHLEY RUBERG (17th) and senior CARRIE BESSER (23rd). All eight U of L runners recorded personal-best 5,000-meter cross country times on the day as the Cards won their first team title of the season
Marquette finished 10th out of 37 teams with a total of 299 points at the NCAA Pre-National Meet. The 23rd-ranked Golden Eagles were led by senior JESSIE SWAN who finished 23rd in the field of 275 runners, with her time of 21:06. Swan was followed by teammates SUSAN BARTH and JACKIE SWAN, who all posted a top-50 time on the 6K course. Barth finished 36th with a time of 21:20, while Swan placed 50th with her 21:30 time
AIMEE WALTHER and JANELLE DECKER paced the Saint Louis to a 12th-place finish out of 30 teams at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational on Saturday in Kenosha, Wis. The Billikens finished with 369 points for the meet. Walther ran one of the best SLU times of the season, recording a 19:09 time over the 5K course to finish 28th overall. Decker ran a time of 19:37 to come home second on the squad and 66th overall
South Florida finished fifth out of 30 schools at the Auburn Invitational last Saturday. Southern Miss finished 17th out of 30 teams at the Auburn Invitational last weekend. Senior JESSICA CRUMP turned in her best time of the season with a time of 18:47.91 to finish 76th overall. Junior KERI WHITE ran her first sub-19 minute 5k with a time of 18:50.04 for 80th place
Tulane earned an 18th-place finish at the Auburn Invitational last weekend. The event featured 30 schools and 488 runners. The top finisher for the Green Wave was sophomore MEGAN WHELTON, who placed 82nd with a time of 18:50.67. CARLYNE PRADIEU and freshman MANDY HOPPER were second and third finishers, respectively, for Tulane
UAB finished 21st of 30 teams at the Auburn Invitational. Junior AMANDA KARA led the team once again placing 43rd with a time of 18:05.19. This time places her fourth all-time at UAB. Rounding out the Blazer finishers were EMILY SCARBROUGH (19:56.25), HEATHER BURDETT (20:32.27), RINA KARA (20:33.09) and DONNA PUCKE (20:33.01).
Men Charlotte finished 23rd in the white division at the NCAA Pre-National Meet at Indiana State. VINCE SHERRY was the top finisher for the 49ers with a 45th-place standing and a time of 24:47. His time ranks 12th in the school record book

DePaul finished second at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational last weekend. LUIS SAMAYOA took 12th overall in 25:34, while GAVIN KENNEDY placed 23rd with a time of 26:00. BEN COOKE and RICK BRITTON followed in 34th and 40th, respectively
Marquette captured a 30th-place showing with 754 points at the NCAA Pre-National Meet last weekend. The squad was led by the strong performances of freshmen BRENT DES ROCHES and DAVID HENDERSON. Des Roches finished 107th with his time of 25:21 on the 8K course while Henderson placed 145th with a time of 25:40
Saint Louis finished 15th out of 25 teams at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. The Billikens finished with 441 points in the 8K race. Sophomore JOE PORTER led the Billikens with a time of 27:04 to finish 74th overall. PAT HENCHY was second on the team with a time of 27:17, placing him 90th in the overall race. Freshman MIKE ISAAC continued his impressive first season with a time of 27:33.
South Florida finished ninth out of 30 schools, recording 297 points behind eighth place Kentucky (285 pts.) at the Auburn Invitational. ANDREW SMITH turned in his usual consistent performance finishing ninth in the 8K race with a time of 24:10.43, a season best for the Toronto native. ADAM CHUMBLEY finished 34th in 25:04.78 and SEAN BURRIS had his best collegiate time, finishing 47th in 25:17.14
Tulane captured a 19th-place showing at the Auburn Invitational last Saturday. Senior ADAM LESKIS led the Green Wave with a time of 25:20.90. He was followed by senior MARK WILLIAMS and sophomore JOAKIM DAUN.
