C-USA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Women – Angie Kist, Cincinnati
Kist led the Bearcats to a second-place finish at the Queen City Invitational, where she finished fourth individually. She posted a time of 19:10, finishing in the top five for the fourth time this season.
Men – Chris Reis, Cincinnati
Reis won his third individual title of the year at the Queen City Invitational and leading the Bearcats to a first-place finish in the team standings. His time of 25:35 was 26 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

2001 Conference USA Cross Country Championships
2001 C-USA Championships - The seventh annual Men’s and Women’s C-USA Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Lake Kristi in Greenville, N.C. and hosted by East Carolina. The 8,000 meter men’s competition begins at 9 a.m. (CST) and will include competitors from 13 C-USA schools (Charlotte, Cincinnati, DePaul, East Carolina, Houston, Louisville, Marquette, Memphis, Saint Louis, South Florida, TCU and Tulane). The women’s 6,000-meter race will begin at 9:45 (CST) and includes all 14 C-USA teams (Charlotte, Cincinnati, DePaul, East Carolina, Houston, Louisville, Marquette, Memphis, Saint Louis, South Florida, Southern Miss, TCU, Tulane and UAB) ... 2000 Women’s Results - Last year, Marquette captured the women’s team title after SUSAN BARTH and BETHANY HARRY claimed two of the top five spots. Barth posted a time of 21:20.75 for second place, while Harry finished fifth in a time of 21:51.87. Tulane’s Theresa Maru claimed individual honors, crossing the finish line in a time of 21:06.93 ... 2000 Men’s Results - On the men’s side, South Florida won its third C-USA title with three runners finishing in the top six. Tulane’s KANDIE SOLOMAN earned his first C-USA individual medalist honors posting a time of 24:32.53 ... 2001 Men’s Highlights - Defending men’s individual champion KANDIE SOLOMON is undefeated this season after winning the Tulane Invitational, Rajin’ Cajun Cross Country Invitational, Auburn Invitational and LSU Invitational. He recorded his best time of 24:38.50 at the Auburn Invitational. Four-time 2001 C-USA Athlete of the Week CHRIS REIS of Cincinnati has also posted impressive showings, earning three first place and two runner-up finishes this season. He placed second at the Illinois Invitational, where he notched a season-best time of 24:08 ... 2001 Women’s Highlights – Freshman JOHANNA ALLEN of East Carolina set a school and personal-best time of 17:00 to claim top honors at the North Carolina Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships on Oct. 14. Her time was also the fastest by a C-USA runner in the 5,000-meter race this season. TCU’s GLADY’S KEITANY claimed three individual medalist titles out of four races this year. Keitany posted her season-best time of 17:22 at the Baylor Invitational on Sept. 22.
