Cross Country Weekly Notes for October 25
Women
Cincinnati hosted the 19th Annual Queen City Invitational on Friday and placed fourth out of nine teams. ANGIE KIST won her second consecutive Queen City Title, crossing the finish line in 19:01. The top 30 finishers for the Bearcats included: JACKIE REIDER (6th, 19:22), KELLY CRUM (7th, 19:29), MISSY TITUS (24th, 20:33)
Tulane captured the Southeastern Louisiana Invitational team title Friday. HANNE LYNGSTAD won the women's individual title with a time of 10:27.42 over two miles. THERESA MARU finished second with a time of 10:28.35. Rounding out the top 5 for the Green Wave was KATRINA GEMMELL (4th, 10:51.54).
Men
Cincinnati finished second out of nine teams in the Queen City Invitational on Friday. Sophomore Chris Reiss finished second overall with a time of 25:52. Junior VINCENT FRIES placed eighth with a time of 27:19. Rounding out the top 30 was JACOB ARMENTROUT, placing 18th with a time of 27:19.
Tulane's SOLOMAN KANDIE won the three-mile race with a time of 14:18.87 to lead his team to a first place finish. ANTHONY LAGAT (3rd, 14:45.63), PETER ROTICH (4th, 14:57.78) and MESHACK MUHUPI (5th, 15:01.95), rounded out the scoring for the Green Wave.
