IRVING, Texas - Post season competition is on the horizon for several Conference USA cross country teams after a solid 2009 campaign. C-USA will send seven men's teams and 10 women's squads to six NCAA Regionals held Nov. 14.

Houston, Rice, Tulsa and UTEP are among the four regionally ranked programs representing the conference this weekend. Two-time conference champion, John Beattie led Tulsa to a No. 5 slot in the Midwest Region, while UTEP secured the No. 6 spot in the Mountain Region. No. 9 Rice and No. 10 Houston will round out the ranked squads competing in regional action at the South Central Region. East Carolina, Marshall and UAB will also compete in their respective regionals.

On the women's side, Houston, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, UAB and UTEP are regionally ranked entering competition this weekend. SMU, who is No. 25 in the nation in the latest USTFCCCA Top-30 Poll, holds the top regional spot at the South Central Region, while Rice takes the No. 5 position and Houston No. 9. UTEP locked up the No. 5 ranking in the Mountain Region and will be led by the top finisher at the Conference USA Championship, freshman Risper Kimaiyo. Rounding out the women's squads will be Tulsa at No. 10 in the Midwest Region and No. 12 UAB in the South Region, while East Carolina, Southern Miss, Tulane and UCF will also be in action.
