Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's Alex Becker, a junior cross country/track athlete and native of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, finished third at the senior Women's Canadian National Cross Country Championship at the University of Guelph Arboretum this weekend.

With her third-place finish, she joins Tulsa teammate Edwin Henshaw in qualifying for the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland in March 2008. Becker completed the 7 km course in 23:55 finishing just behind Carmen Douma Hussar and Megan Metcalfe.

The 2007 season has been a great year for Becker. She is a three-time All-American, earning All-America honors in Indoor (3000m), Outdoor (5000m) and Cross Country. Becker was also a first-team ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American. She was the C-USA Individual Champion in Indoor (3000m), Outdoor (5000m) and Cross Country and earned first-team all-C-USA honors for Indoor, Outdoor and Cross Country as well.
