Baseball - 1/26/2012 C-USA Announces Preseason Baseball...Conference USA announced its 2012 preseason baseball awards, as chosen by the league's nine head coaches. UCF junior utility player D.J. Hicks was chosen as the preseason Player of the Year, while Rice sophomore left-hander Austin Kubitza was named the preseason Pitcher of the Year. Rice was chosen to win the league's championship. The Owls have won either the regular season or tournament championship in each of its first six years as a member of C-USA. Baseball - 12/20/2011 Rice's Ratterree & Kubitza...The Rice tandem of Michael Ratterree and Austin Kubitza have both been named to Collegiate Baseball's 2012 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America teams, the publication announced Tuesday (Dec. 20) from its headquarters in Tucson, Ariz. On Monday (Dec. 19) Collegiate Baseball tabbed the Owls as the preseason No. 7 team in he country for 2012.
