GREENVILLE, N.C. - Seventh-seeded Tulane banged out 21 hits, three shy of the championship record, and scored 13 runs en route to eliminating No. 6 UAB, 13-5, in game six of the 2007 C-USA Baseball Championship at Clark-LeClair Stadium on the campus of East Carolina University. A pair of four-run innings staked the Green Wave to an 8-3 lead through six innings and the team extended its lead late in the game to advance to play on Friday.

The Blazers (25-33) grabbed an early 1-0 lead after Allen Aubin laced a one-out double to center field and advanced third on a single by Brint Hardy. Aubin later scored on Levi Patmon's RBI groundout.

The lead was short lived though, as Tulane roared back for four runs in the top of the fourth.

Ty Wallace led off the fourth with a double down the left field line and Brad Emaus was then walked by UAB's Grant Addison. Grayden Grenier, who entered the game in right field in the second inning, then laid down a sacrifice bunt that Addison threw wide of first. The error scored Wallace and placed runners at second and third with nobody out.

Seth Henry was next up to the plate and singled home Emaus. After two consecutive Addison strikeouts, Cat Everett doubled to right field to score both Henry and Grenier to stake his team to the 4-1 lead.

The Green Wave (33-25) added to its cushion with four more runs in the fifth for a 8-3 lead on doubles by Tim Guidry, Emaus and Henry and two singles.

Leading 9-4 through seven innings, Tulane tacked on a run in the eighth and three more in the ninth to seal the victory. Included was Wallace's second double of the day, matching his career total coming into the game.

Sean Morgan picked up his eighth win of the season for Tulane. The junior went seven strong innings and scattered five hits, while striking out six.

Addison was saddled with the loss, allowing six runs in on 10 hits in four innings of work. Blazer Hurlers Kasey Croft, Brandon Flaherty and Dustin Colburn were all touched for at least two runs. The loss dropped Addison to 3-2 on the season. The 13 runs were the most that Tulane had scored against a Conference USA team this season. It was also the highest total for the Wave since piling up 16 against LSU on April 3.

Tulane advances to face the loser of Thursday's game between No. 2 East Carolina and No. 3 Southern Miss at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
