For the first time in Conference USA Tournament history the top seeds have won the first eight games as the bracket has held form through two days of action at Pete Taylor Park. In game eight, TCU righthander Lance Broadway continued his dominance with six shutout innings as the second-seeded Horned Frogs blanked third-seeded Southern Miss, 8-0. Second baseman Chad Huffman led the Frogs' offense with four hits and five RBI, including his 12th home run of the season. Broadway, who earned his national-leading 14th win of the season, had nine strikeouts and allowed just three hits as he extended his scoreless innings streak to 21.

Tulane exploded for 13 runs in the first three innings against East Carolina and went on to post a 16-3 win in game three on Thursday. C-USA Player of the Year Micah Owings was 3-for-4, including a three-run homer, while Greg Dini and Mark Hamilton each had three hits and four RBI for the Green Wave, who advance to Saturday's games. Adam Witter was 4-for-4 for ECU. In the final game of the day, C-USA Pitcher of the Year Lance Broadway is on the mound for TCU against Southern Miss. The Horned Frogs have increased their lead to 8-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Baisley brothers proved too much to handle as Brian was 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and two RBI, while Jeff had a three-run triple. USF advances to Friday's action, while Louisville is eliminated from the tournament., In the 4 p.m. game, top-seeded Tulane scored five in the first, five in the second and three in the third to take a 13-2 lead. The Green Wave have just closed out a 16-3 victory.
