Rice Super Regional Set To Begin On Saturday At 2 PM On ESPNU

For the second consecutive year, the Rice Owls will host the Texas A&M Aggies in a three-game series for a berth in College World Series when they open play in the Houston (Rice) Super Regional on Saturday, June 7 at Reckling Park at 2:00. The opener of the series will be televised by ESPNU. Sunday's second game will start at 6:00 and be televised by ESPN 2. Monday's third game, if needed, will be played either at 11:30 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. and be carried either by ESPN or ESPN 2. Super Regional all-session tickets are on sale now for $39 and are currently available over the internet at riceowls.com, and will be available in person or over the phone through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office from 8:30 am to 5 pm Tuesday (June 3). General admission is in the left field and right field bleachers and the hill and seating is first come-first serve. All-session super regional tickets can be picked up starting Wednesday from 8:30 am to 7 pm in the ticket office located on the concourse of the Rice football stadium. The office will also be open for sales and pick ups from 8:30 am to 7 pm on Thursday. Rice (45-13) swept their way into the Super Regional round with victories over Sam Houston State, St. John's and Texas. Texas A&M earned a return to Houston by taking a 13-5 decision over Houston on Monday night in College Station. Last year, Rice earned its sixth trip to Omaha since 1999 by defeating the Aggies 3-2 in 10 innings and 5-2 last season at Reckling Park. The Owls took the only meeting between the two teams this year, winning 11-2 in College Station on April 15.
