VIENNA, Ga. - Marshall University pitcher Chad Johnson was recently named Pitcher of the Week by the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League.

Johnson is 2-0, with an ERA of 0.00 in 10.1 innings of work. Johnson has allowed just 4 hits, and is yet to allow a run to cross the plate. He has fanned 13 batters and is holding opponents to an astounding .118 overall batting average.

"It's great to see Chad going out and doing well this summer," pitching coach Tim Adkins said. "He is throwing hard and having some good success. This is a great way for him to prepare for the fall and be able to go out and compete for a starting job."

The Senators are an impressive 17-1 overall and 11-1 in CGBL play.

Johnson appeared in six games during his freshman season at Marshall which totaled 4.1 innings on the hill. He had three strikeouts during the 2008 season for the Thundering Herd.
