Rice's Seastrunk Named To All-College World Series Team
June 25, 2007 For an outstanding series of games last week in Omaha, Rice freshman Diego Seastrunk was named the third baseman on the 2007 All-College World Series team. Seastrunk batted a composite .316 in the Owls' four CWS games, hitting safely in 6-of-19 at bats with five RBI, four runs scored and a double. Seastrunk helped keep a Rice rally alive with a two-out RBI in the CWS comeback win over Louisville (June 15). The Channelview native had three hits, two RBI and scored twice in the winner's bracket victory over North Carolina (June 17). The Rice rookie finished the 2007 regular season with a .304 batting average and as a starter in 50 games for the Owl team that finished third in the nation.
