The Golden Eagles finished the season at 32-26, the program's 14th straight winning season and the 14th year in a row that USM has won at least 30 games. Senior OF JOSH HOFFPAUIR raised his batting average nearly 40 points over the last three weeks of the season, finishing at .333 with 12 doubles and eight home runs. With 18 home runs this season, junior OF DUSTY HALEY moved into eighth place on the school's career home run list with 34. Senior C CHRIS FINNEGAN finished tied with sophomore C/DH DARREN WELCH for the team hitting lead at .365. Finnegan had a team-high 58 RBI and finished second on the club in doubles (15) and home runs (11), while Welch paced Conference USA in doubles with 23 and drove in 50 runs. LHP SHEA DOUGLAS earned a spot on the C-USA All-Freshman team after going 6-4 with strikeouts over 80 innings pitched. In league play, he had 61 K's in 58 1/3 innings pitched. As a team, USM ranked third in C-USA in ERA (4.70) and second in strikeouts (414).
