The 49ers became the first team in Conference USA Tournament history to throw three complete games, as junior RHP BRION TREADWAY, senior RHP RYAN BAKER and freshman RHP JOHN MAINE each went the distance. After winning against South Florida and Houston, UNCC was eliminated with back-to-back losses to No. 6 Houston. Treadway (11-4) is just the third player in school history to record more than 100 strikeouts in a season (he had 114). Baker (11-5) also went over the 100 strikeout mark for the season. Baker finished with 106 K's, making he and Treadway the first teammates in school and conference history to post 10 wins in a single season as well as record more than 100 K's. Senior RHP JOHN McKAY has recorded a school-record 11 saves on the year, which ranked him among the national leaders. With 77 K's, he was the only relief pitcher that ranked in C-USA's top 10 in strikeouts. Outfielder MIKE TAYLOR was named Conference USA Freshman of the Year after hitting a team-best .366, the second-highest average by a freshman in school history. Freshman 1B BRAD ERWIN had 16 multiple hit games on the year and finished second on the team in batting at .329.
