Tulsa Head Coach Doug Wojcik
Opening Statement...
"[That was] a great win for us. Marshall's a really good team. In the first half they kept answering all of our runs. For us to come out and score 47 points in the second half two nights in a row is a real tribute to these guys. I thought we showed an unbelievable toughness and great resiliency. Our freshman here [Donte Medder] has really grown up in so many ways. He really has. [This win is] great for Ben, great for Jerome. I'm just really proud of them. You asked me yesterday about our rebounding. We outrebounded them today. We took care of the ball after the first few minutes of the game. We ended with 10 total turnovers. This is a great win for us and I'm really happy for our kids."

On making substitution decisions during the game...
"It was one of those games. We came in at halftime and they were basically beating us at the free throw line. Tirrell Baines really hurt us in the fist half. Things kind of settled down. I think we did a great job on Tyler Wilkerson. I think Tyler Wilkerson is a really good player, and I've said that for three years. We did a great job and soon things started going our way. We had fortunate situations where there were dead ball situations and I could sub and that helped a lot, tremendously, because I wasn't going to burn timeouts at that point. Getting [Donte Medder] in helped a lot. He's really become a proficient free throw shooter over the last couple of weeks. We hit a point in February where people figured us out to some degree. We had a tough stretch. We had a tough February schedule and I'm just really happy for these guys. We've had a lot of doubters and they've really come through and really produced over the last two days."

#13 Donte Medder, Tulsa
On his contribution to team in the tournament...
"When Ben is tied up, I try to run the team. I have to knock down open shots and try to provide a spark off the bench. I just try to help out any way I can."

#23 Jerome Jordan, Tulsa
On his play in the second half...
"Coach was going to me and I knew the team really needed me, so I knew I had to come through and deliver any way I could whether it be scoring or rebounding or a defensive play."

#1 Ben Uzoh, Tulsa
On TU's offense and defense during Marshall's 7-minute second-half scoring drought...
"Going into the locker room, we just wanted to come out in the second half the way we started the game and that was just getting stops, getting out and pushing it a little bit, getting good shots, getting it inside and we did that to start the second half and it fueled us throughout the course of the game."

Marshall Head Coach Donnie Jones
Opening Statement...
"Obviously, I thought Tulsa played extremely well. I think that's a credit to them. They played great in the second half against Rice and played with a completely different edge in the second half than our basketball team. We had a chance up nine, had a couple looks there that didn't go down. I think Dago had a wide open three that could've put the lead to 12 and then it changed. Give Tulsa credit defensively from creating shots. We just couldn't get our momentum going. They hit some big shots, made free throws, made plays and it's hard to go that long without scoring in the second half. Again, you've got to get stops. And this is a veteran team. They've been in this tournament before. They've had success the last couple of years in getting to the finals. That's the next step our program's got to take. We've got to be able to take that maturity step here and get stops and do things down the stretch that win basketball games and tonight we couldn't change that rhythm."

On Jerome Jordan...
"He played well. Obviously he's a senior and experienced. He's been in a lot of big games. He's a very good player. They play out of the post with him and do a good job. It was hard for us. Tyler was out for most of that stretch when they made that run, which made it really hard to help Hassan. It was one-on-one in the post with him. He made some tough plays, made some tough shots, made some good passes. He's a very good basketball player."

On Donte Medder's performance...
"Well, you know, they had five guys in double-figures. They bring him in and took Wheatley out and that makes it really hard for us to double in the post because they've got three guys that can score now. Although they were three of six from the three-point line the threes they hit were important at an important time. It really changed the momentum. He's a difference maker. When you have him and Hurtt making plays it really offsets what you're trying to do. Give them credit, tonight they're shots went down and they made the plays when they needed to."

On Tulsa's second half defense...
"Well, they jammed up the middle. You're sitting here looking, Damier Pitts is 1-of-8, Dago Pena is 1-of-3, Chris Lutz is 0-of-7, anytime you go 2-of-18 with our three starting guards it makes it very difficult to get the ball inside as much as we wanted. So you've got to make shots from the outside. We had some looks, didn't go down. Give Tulsa credit for doing that. We went 3-of-16 from the 3-point line. You've got to be able to make some shots from the outside to open things up with the way we want to play and we didn't do that tonight.

On what is going through your mind during Tulsa's second half run...
"Obviously, we had two timeouts there and the thing we got to do is continue to be aggressive and get stops and we weren't doing it. Guys were getting shots. I can't say we weren't getting shots. They just weren't making them. You've got to make shots and we weren't doing that, so I don't know if a timeout was going to make us make another shot."

On the lack of assists...
"Well, we got frustrated. We led the league in assists because we always played together. This was a game where they were hugging our shooters and they weren't leaving Chris and those guys to get open looks. It was very difficult to drive and create and we had to play one-on-one a lot more in this game than we wanted to but we didn't do a good job. We're not a good one-on-one team. That's not who we are. Although we were up nine, playing the way we were [when] things didn't go well for us we struggled to get easy shots. Give Tulsa credit for that."

On if making a postseason trip would be a consolation...
"Well, we haven't been to one in 23 years, so I think any postseason is good for Marshall because we haven't been to one or been invited to one, so yeah, we're definitely looking forward to playing in some type of postseason. These kids have earned that. Although we were disappointed in how we played today, we still won eight of our last nine games coming into tonight."

On parity in the league...
"There's a lot of parity. I thought that from the beginning. And by going through this league, let's be honest Tulsa was picked to win the league and they finished fifth. They're as talented as anybody in this league and can beat anyone on a given night. And look at the teams that won coming in here tonight. UAB lost. Memphis lost. Houston is a very talented team. They've beaten Memphis two times. You've got to come to play every night. When you come to the conference tournament it's a whole different ballgame. Give Tulsa credit. They're experienced and I thought tonight was as well as they have played probably in the last several games I've seen them play. They played really well."

#32 Tyler Wilkerson, Marshall
"On sitting on the bench during Tulsa's run...
"I mean it's always hard to sit on the bench when you feel like you should be on the court but the guys played hard. I just tried to go out there and tell them to keep their head in, pick it up and tell them to turn it up. We just couldn't make shots. Against a team like Tulsa, it's big because they play great defense and that kind of hurt during that stretch."

#21 Hassan Whiteside, Marshall
On Jerome Jordan...
"I knew he was a good player coming in from playing against him twice. He hit like two jump hooks over me so I knew he was really being aggressive, so I knew I had to really pick up the defense."
