UC's Williams, Bobbitt, Huggins Head To Texas For Final Four

University of Cincinnati senior guards Field Williams and Tony Bobbitt, as well as head coach Bob Huggins, will be heading to San Antonio, Tex. this week to participate in activities at the NCAA Final Four.
Williams will participate in the16th annual ESPN 3-Point Shooting Championship on Thursday, April 1 at the UTSA Convocation Center on the campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio. The event, which is paired with the Slam Dunk Competition, begins at 7:30 p.m. EST, and will air on ESPN at 9:00 p.m. EST.
The 6-4 Williams, a native of Houston, finished his UC career as the all-time leader in 3-Pt. FG Pct. (.401) and No. 2 in career treys with 262. Other senior standouts competing in the 3-Point Contest include:Andre Barrett (Seton Hall), Gerald Fitch (Kentucky), Matt Freije (Vanderbilt), Luke Jackson (Oregon), Matt Lottich (Stanford), Brandon Mouton (Texas), Todd Okeson (Nevada), and Terrance Woods (Florida A&M).
Huggins, who led the Bearcats (25-7) to their 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament (the third longest current streak in Division I) and eighth 25-win season in the last nine years, will be a celebrity judge in the Slam Dunk Competition.
Bobbitt, UC's dynamic sixth man, will play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)All-Star game on Friday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. CST at the SBC Center, home of the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. The game features some of the top senior players in the nation. The 6-4 Bobbitt was second on the Bearcats in scoring (13.4) and led the team in steals with 48.
A native of Daytona Beach, Fla., Bobbitt was the Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year and a third team all-league selection after ranking No. 3 in the nation in scoring among non-starters this season.
